About Rebecca Mueller

Rebecca Mueller is a Community Educator Volunteer with The Alzheimer's Association. Her professional background is in psychosocial care and support within dementia care facilities ranging from assisted living to total care. She is first and foremost an elder advocate. Her desire to support those with dementia, as well as their care team, began while caring for her grandmother and mother. She went on to become a licensed social worker and worked as the director of a dementia care unit. Rebecca strongly believes education focusing on functional ability and clinical research/support; coupled with dignity during each stage can provide the necessary tools for coping with and enduring an Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Rebecca retired from the long-term care environment to care for her children and to work as a certified fitness trainer. She lives in Aurora, Illinois with her family and two Boston Terriers, and enjoys maintaining a wellness lifestyle and giving back to the care community.
